Greetings Macedonia Family and Friends,
Earlier this week, Governor Parson announced that Missouri will reopen for business on Monday, May 4th. Kansas City Mayor Lucas on the other hand, stated that the City’s stay-at-home order will remain in effect through May 15th. I want you to know that Macedonia Baptist Church will not reopen May 4th. We will continue to praise God and worship Him for his goodness via Livestream and Facebook. We will continue growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with Bible Study and Sunday School via Livestream and Facebook. We also will continue serving our members and the community through the Mountaintop Pantry. I want you to know that I will continue to communicate with our elected officials, as well as medical professionals and will keep you updated as things develop. For those of you who are returning to work, keep the faith that God will be a hedge of protection around you. Remember Colossians 3:23.
Undoubtedly, the split between elected officials will cause anxiety, frustration, and yes, even fear from which Christians are not exempt. But listen, Jesus knew there would be days like this and told us not to worry! Instead, we can sing with confidence, “His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me!!”
This year, 2020 has been filled with extreme highs (e.g., The Chiefs won the Super Bowl!!), extreme lows (e.g., the Coronavirus pandemic), and in some instances, extreme uncertainty (e.g., lockdown/no lockdown; masks/no masks). But isn’t it good to know God never changes?!! His love for us and His promises to us are eternal! Jesus was crucified for our sins, rose from the dead, and through Him we are free!! God is great and worthy to be praised! This Sunday, we will celebrate The Lord’s Supper. We invite you to send in pictures of your family taking Communion so we can share them. Email them to: mbclstv@gmail.com.
In the meantime, join us for Bible Study via Livestream and on Facebook as we continue discussing what the Bible tells us of how to deal with anxiety and fear.
Click the link below to join us on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30p.m.
In closing, let me be clear, Macedonia will not re-open on May 4th. In fact, we will remain closed until a later date of which I will keep you posted. Even though the Macedonia premises remain closed, we will continue to be here for you as we have been these past months. With all that has happened so far this year, it has taught us that God is God all by Himself and He is still in control!! As we meditate on His truths, they will carry us through these turbulent times of uncertainty and chaos. Don’t worry, you are worth more than a sparrow!
Peace & Love,
John L. Brooks
