July 11, 2020
Greetings, Macedonia Family and Friends!
No one would debate whether 2020 has been easy. The consensus would be a resounding — NOT!!! No one could have predicted this would be a year of a prolonged pandemic, social distancing, required mask wearing, extreme interruptions of our lives!! And yet, here we are!! It would be easy to become hopeless, scared and even negative. But that’s when and where our faith kicks in. Faith sees best in the darkness.
As we faithfully follow the path God illuminates for us, we will grow stronger. We can persevere longer. Nobody knows when this will be over. But we know with God by our side, WE CAN MAKE IT!!
The late, great Dr. James Cleveland sang a song “LORD HELP ME TO HOLD OUT!!!” It fits perfectly with the crisis we face today. If you feel your stamina fading, feed it with the Word, with praise and thanksgiving, with conversation and SAFE interaction with other believers. Whatever you do, don’t give up! In the words of another James Cleveland classic, “Nobody told me the road would be easy. I don’t believe He brought me this far to leave me!!”
“Because of the Lord’s great love, we are consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-24 NIV)
Vacation Bible School IS COMING!! August 3rd – 5th. This year’s theme is “I’ve Got This!”. It’s virtual and it’s going to be great!! I challenge you to invite 10 people to Register!! Click this link:
In closing, no matter what uncertainties we face, just remember in the words of this old Negro spiritual, “We’ll understand it better, by and by!”
Peace & Love,
John L. Brooks
