Greetings Macedonia Family and Friends!
I pray all the fathers and father-figures spent Sunday receiving and giving love. I certainly did! Thank you, Teri, Ben, and John as well as all of you for your thoughtful expressions.
It officially is summer! Time for fun in the sun after what indisputably has been a very long winter! Increasingly, people are having barbecues, taking long awaited vacations, hitting the pools and beaches, just hanging out and having fun in the sun. But please, please, PLEASE remember COVID-19 is still with us! Be mindful! Be safe! Stay healthy! The ever presence and health risks presented by COVID-19 is why we are still having virtual services. Trust me, I want to come back just as much as, if not more than, you! I miss your faces. I miss worshipping with you. I miss fellowshipping you! Hear and believe me when I say it, “We will come back! But only when it is safe to do so!” We do not want to come back prematurely only to have to shut down like some churches across the nation because of Coronavirus infections. God would not stress the importance of fellowship and then not create a way for it to happen. Until then, one of our congregational songs resonates in my spirit — “I don’t mind waiting! I don’t mind waaaa-aaaaiting! I don’t mind waaaaiting on the Lord...”.
While we wait, it is imperative that we maintain contact! It is critical that we keep in touch! It is crucial that we stay connected. Whether you have been a member for a day or 60 years, we want to hear from you. How have you been? How have you spent your time? What are you doing? In closing, yes, we are living in uncertain times, but just remember “Father alone will know all about it. Father alone will understand why. Cheer up my brothers (and sisters). Live in the sunshine. We’ll understand it by and by.” While we wait on God, we will stand strong TOGETHER!
