Greetings Macedonia Family and Friends!

This week, some people are celebrating the announcement that businesses will be reopened, and people will be returning to work. All this is intended to get the economy moving after an historic 30 million people filed for unemployment. On the flip side, there are many people who are cringing at the very thought of things reopening so quickly. I have come today to tell you both are ok. It’s ok to celebrate and it’s ok to cringe. In this COVID-19 era, it’s not THAT we celebrate or cringe, but HOW we do it.

I am glad to announce that LaShandra Shepard, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who is also a Deaconess at Macedonia, has agreed to use her expertise to help our church family and friends identify and utilize practical tools to cope with the anxieties and fears surrounding this pandemic period. It is a blessing that God has people everywhere (Acts 18:10)! Please submit your questions no later than 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 to: mbckcmocares@gmail.com. It is our plan to have her answers to your questions posted on our website. Based on the personal nature of the subject, there will be no live discussion or Q&A.

So, whether you are going back to work or staying home, remember this — during the first stay-in order ever in this world, Noah stayed in the ark for months after it stopped raining. Noah sent out a raven, then he sent out a dove to gauge when it was right to come out of the arc (Genesis 7,8). Noah exited the arc when he knew it was safe to do so. We should follow the same principles as Noah — take measured steps, be safe, and have faith!!
