Greetings Macedonia Family and Friends,
I am excited to embark upon this journey of Spiritual fasting with you as we prepare, ultimately, for a corporate fast. ARE YOU HUNGRY FOR GOD?, is the quintessential question we must ask ourselves as we delve into and prepare for our corporate fast. In his book, A Hunger For God, John Piper said, “Our appetites dictate the direction of our lives -- whether it be the cravings of our stomachs, the passionate desire for possession or power, or the longing of our spirits for God...While our hunger for God -- and him alone -- is the only thing that will bring victory.” As we discussed during Bible Study on Wednesday, Biblical fasting is to refrain from eating food with a spiritual goal in mind. There are several examples of God’s children fasting in the Bible. Esther fasted because of fear of going before King Xerxes to save the Jews. David fasted as he petitioned God to heal his son. Jesus told His disciples that some things only come through fasting and prayer. As we face this Coronavirus, we too will fast as a corporate body seeking deliverance, protection, and healing. Join us tomorrow for Sunday School at 8:30 a.m. and Worship Service at 9:45 a.m. either on Facebook or Livestream. Please share these links with others so they can join us! https://livestream.com/accounts/3643109/events/2057916 Praise God!! Next week, Macedonia will celebrate 104 YEARS of ministry! Please send in pictures of your favorite Macedonia memories to mbclstv@gmail.com so we can share them during our special anniversary presentation!! With tomorrow being Mother’s Day, I will leave you with words from this special song: “My mother prayed for me. She had me on her mind. She took the time to pray for me. I’m so glad she prayed. I’m so glad she prayed. I’m so glad she prayed for me!” Peace & Love John L. Brooks 5-9-20
