“Building the Wall” History

"So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart." Nehemiah. 4:6

In 1999, Macedonia 300 was launched. The goal was to have 300 Macedonians giving to the Building Fund. The monetary goal was to raise $1 million dollars in five (5) years. That goal was met in four years with over 300 Macedonians giving toward the building of our new facility in four years. To add some fun and excitement to the campaign, we began a healthy giving competition between men and women. The Gleaners campaign began October 2000 and has added a spark to the Building the Wall campaign.

Many may ask what is gleaners? So, I asked a few of our members what comes to mind when you hear gleaners?

“Power - it gives us drive to push forward”. ⁃ Rochelle Bolden

“Those collecting up after a certain season. Or being able to leave some for someone else”. ⁃ Alicia Carlock

“To pick up the leftovers bit by bit.” ⁃ Kathy Finnell

“To sacrifice something and give more than you normally would for our church in a fun competitive way, that everyone can participate in.” ⁃ Schiara Willis
